The Shift of Sands is a novel by Australian poet and writer Roland Robinson. It tells the story of a young man who leaves his home in the city to work as a boundary rider in the outback. There he encounters the harsh realities of the land, the Aboriginal people, and his own identity. The book was published by Macmillan in 1976 and has 375 pages.
